Prof. Tally Katz-Gerro: VP for Global Engagement

I am a full professor of Sociology and Head of the Division of Global Engagement. My research areas include the sociology of consumption, sociology of culture, environmental sociology, household sustainability, and social stratification, with a methodological emphasis on cross-national and cross-time comparisons. I was visiting Professor at Sciences Po, Kyung Hee University, University of Turku, University of Innsbruck, and more. I was faculty at the University of Manchester between 2016-2019, served as Vice President of the Israel Sociological Society, Treasurer of the European Sociological Association, and co-editor-in-chief of the journal Poetics. Ms. Tsameret Einav: Managing Director 

My career at the University of Haifa has helped prepare me for my role as Managing Director at the Division for Global Engagement. Over the years, I have held several distinguished positions including Managing Director of the International School, Director of the Asia Desk, and Head of Partnerships in the Division of External Affairs, gaining extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of global engagement and strategic partnerships.

Prior to working at the University of Haifa, I served as the Israel-Asia Academic Relations Manager for the Israeli Council for Higher Education (CHE), where I oversaw the promotion of student exchange programs and fostered joint research and academic collaborations between Israel, China, and India. Earlier in my career, I co-founded and managed the largest Chinese language and culture school in Israel. My academic journey includes seven years of residence in China, where I earned a Master’s degree in International Relations from Nankai University in Tianjin.

aseel khawaled Ms. Aseel  Khawaled: Media Coordinator

My journey as an MSc student in Information Systems at the University of Haifa, has significantly shaped my expertise in many technologies fields. Alongside my academic pursuits, I currently serve as a Media Coordinator, a role that allows me to merge my technical knowledge with strategic communication and coordination skills. Throughout my education, I have undertaken many projects and I have earned some impactful techniques. These experiences have strengthened my analytical and problem-solving capabilities, which I now apply in my work as a Media Coordinator to optimize media strategies and manage complex communication tasks.

Prior to this, I have been deeply committed to education and mentorship, volunteering as a tutor. These opportunities allowed me to develop a strong sense of giving and supporting others while enhancing my ability to engage with diverse audiences.
