Prof. Tally Katz-Gerro: Vice President for Global Engagement

I am a full professor of Sociology and Vice President of Global Engagement. My research areas include the sociology of consumption, sociology of culture, environmental sociology, household sustainability, and social stratification, with a methodological emphasis on cross-national and cross-time comparisons. I was a visiting Professor at Sciences Po, Kyung Hee University, the University of Turku, the University of Innsbruck, and more. I was a faculty member at the University of Manchester in 2016-2019, served as Vice President of the Israel Sociological Society, Treasurer of the European Sociological Association, and co-editor-in-chief of the journal Poetics. Ms. Tsameret Einav: Managing Director 

My career at the University of Haifa has prepared me for the role of Managing Director at the Division for Global Engagement. I previously served as Managing Director of the International School, Director of the Asia Desk, and Head of Partnerships in the Division of External Affairs. Before that, I was Israel-Asia Academic Relations Manager for the Israeli Council for Higher Education, promoting exchanges and collaborations with China and India. I also co-founded and managed Israel’s largest Chinese language and culture school, lived in China for seven years, and earned a Master’s in International Relations from Nankai University in Tianjin.

Mr. Denis Chernyshenko: Media Coordinator

I am currently a PhD student at the Haifa Center for German and European Studies (HCGES). My research areas include German foreign policy, party politics, and Germany-Israel relations. Prior to joining the University of Haifa, I graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) and participated in the Region Europe educational program at the University of Turin. I also worked for more than 10 years in international media, including as a senior editor and a correspondent, specializing in German politics and international affairs.
