Bio:

Prof. Maeera Shreiber is an internationally respected scholar of modern and contemporary poetry, Jewish-American literature, poetics, translation studies, and feminist criticism. Her interdisciplinary research explores the intersections of language, faith, and poetics, bridging poetics, theology, translation studies, and critical theory.

Prof. Maeera Shreiber is the author of several influential books, including Holy Envy: Writing in the Jewish Christian Borderzone (Fordham University Press, 2022), Singing in a Strange Land: A Jewish American Poetics (Stanford University Press, 2007), and the co-editor of Dwelling in Possibility: Women Poets and Critics on Poetry (Cornell University Press, 1997). Her current research project, Stealing into the Prayerbook: Poetry, Prayer, and Translation, examines the intersections of poetry, prayer, and translation.
