Bio:

Prof. Judy Kay is a computer scientist specializing in Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and Ubiquitous Computing (Ubicomp). She is Professor of Computer Science at the University of Sydney, where she leads the multidisciplinary Human-Centered Technology Research Cluster. Her research focuses on developing intelligent systems and user interfaces that enable people to understand, manage, and control their personal data, helping them harness it for lifelong and life-wide learning across education, healthcare, and other human-centered applications.

Prof. Judy Kay has contributed to the development of Open Learner Models, enabling learners to visualize and reflect on their learning data to support self-regulated learning and metacognitive development. Her research also addresses privacy and user control of personal data. More recently, she has been exploring the impact of generative AI on higher education and the teaching of computer science and software engineering, while continuing her longstanding collaborations with researchers in healthcare, psychology, medical informatics, and digital health.
