Bio:
Prof. Ram A. Cnaan is a leading scholar of social policy and nonprofit studies at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy & Practice. Internationally recognized for his work on volunteerism, civic engagement, faith-based initiatives, and the nonprofit sector, his research explores how communities organize and deliver social services across different cultural and institutional contexts.
He is actively involved in several international research initiatives that foster cross-national collaboration. One of his current projects examines differences between countries in tasks carried out exclusively by volunteers, exclusively by professionals, or jointly by both. Through these efforts, Prof. Cnaan promotes global academic partnerships and encourages early-career faculty to engage in comparative and international research.
