Prof. Anthony Julius

Bio:

Prof. Anthony Julius is an internationally prominent legal scholar and one of the most distinguished legal practitioners in the United Kingdom. He holds the Chair in Law and the Arts at University College London (UCL), where his work is widely recognized for advancing the study of law’s relationship with literature, art, culture, and antisemitism. His scholarship has made a sustained and influential contribution to interdisciplinary legal studies and humanities. 

Alongside his academic career, Professor Julius is a senior partner at Mishcon de Reya, one of the UK’s leading law firms, where he served for a decade as Head of Litigation, was a member of the firm’s Management Board, and currently holds the position of Deputy Chairman. He has also held visiting professorships, including at Birkbeck, University of London, and is the author of numerous influential works spanning law, culture, and intellectual history. His career exemplifies a rare dual distinction at the highest levels of both legal practice and academic scholarship.
