2026 call for Visiting scholar Grants

The University of Cincinnati’s International office is pleased to announce the 2026 Call for Visiting Scholar Grants. 

The Visiting Scholar Grant includes the scholar’s round-trip airfare to Cincinnati and lodging and daily breakfast accommodations for 7-10 days, paid for by UC International. Depending on the UC faculty/department, the UC host may provide airport transportation and/or some meals. Please discuss this directly with the UC host. The visit must take place during a mutually agreed-upon 7-10 period between January 1-December 31, 2026. 

Applicants must identify and connect with a relevant UC department and faculty member who shares interest in the proposed project and agrees to serve as host. Strong applications will demonstrate the UC host’s commitment to the collaboration. The UC faculty host will serve as the primary contact and work with the visiting scholar to develop a visit agenda aligned with the proposal’s goals.

To apply, please submit the 2026 Visiting Scholar Grant Application Form by Friday, October 31, 2025. Applicants will be notified of the results by early December. As part of the online application, the applicant is required to upload the following documents in a single PDF:

  • Visit proposal
  • Abbreviated CV
  • Signed letter of support from the UC host faculty member (acknowledging their responsibilities as host)
  • Signed letter of support from the applicant’s supervisor

Successful applicants are expected to submit a report to both UC International and their home institution’s international office within one month of completing the visit. The report should detail the visit, activities undertaken, contacts made, and proposed next steps for continued collaboration.
