Prof. Mor Peleg from the Department of Information Systems and Director of the University of Haifa Data Science Research Center was one of four Guests of honor at the Third Annual MEDSTAR SUMMIT held on May 6-11, 2024 at Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences and Hospitals, Chennai, India. This institution integrates advanced technology into research, education and patient care, and integrates translational research into undergraduate curriculum. Prof. Peleg delivered a keynote on her EU-funded research that developed personalized clinical-guideline-based and AI-based decision-support methods and systems and gave a 2-day hands-on workshop where she taught researchers and clinicians on how to use AI methods to implement behavioral theories that help patients start recommended health habits. The event included a 5-day poster exhibition by 1000 undergraduate medical students and 390 post-graduate students, showcasing 4170 research posters, for which the medical college entered the American Book of World Records. Furthermore, a Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions was signed that could establish a long-term collaboration between the two institutions.
