Ever since its inception four years ago, the Haifa Laboratory for Religious Studies has dedicated its efforts to bridging academic expertise with religious leadership and organization to foster civic and social changes in Haifa, Israel, and the Middle East. Last night, at the University of Haifa, marked a significant milestone in our journey. This year’s annual symposium, titled “Religion and Diplomacy in the Middle East,” centered on the pivotal role of religious leaders in fostering peace amidst the backdrop of ongoing turmoil in our region. Commencing with a keynote address by British Minister Lord Tariq Ahmad, the symposium featured a series of panel discussions involving academics, activists, and religious figures. The culminating session was led by President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, who honored the lifelong achievements of Rabbi David Rosen in the realm of interfaith dialogue.
