data-end=\"497\"><strong>Prof. David Klatzmann<\/strong> is a Professor of Immunology at <strong>Sorbonne University<\/strong> and Chief of Biotherapy at Piti\u00e9-Salp\u00eatri\u00e8re Hospital in Paris. He coordinates the Inflammatory-Immunopathology-Immunotherapy Department and the Clinical Investigation Center in Biotherapy, where he leads translational research bridging fundamental immunology and innovative clinical applications.<\/p><p data-start=\"499\" data-end=\"991\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Prof. Klatzmann played a key role in the discovery of HIV and was the first to demonstrate its preferential tropism for CD4+ T cells and its cytopathic effects\u2014providing the earliest evidence that HIV is the cause of AIDS. He later identified CD4 as the primary receptor for HIV entry.
